Tips and tricks

How you can master difficult pipe runs with the right cable pulling systems!

Cable pulling systems are the heart of every electrical and telecommunications installation, they enable fast, safe pulling of cables through pipes, shafts and walls, without any damage to the line or material. With the right pulling aid unproductive working hours and expensive time are eliminated, and employee motivation is additionally kept high.
Do you know the following problem scenarios in simple residential installations? Here are our recommended cable pulling systems:

Pipes in residential installations with tight bending radii:
An extremely flexible and high-strength cable pulling tape with an equally flexible guide head.
Our recommendations: RP1 or RP5. Simple nylon tapes from hardware stores are not suitable.

Pipes in standard residential installations, which already contain cables:
Depending on the pipe diameter, rigid fiberglass rods Ø 3mm and Ø 4.5mm are effective, as they are slim and do not damage existing cables.
Our recommendationsGF3 with meter counter or GF3 without meter counter or GF3 SLIM

FTTH (Fiber to the Home) retrofit installation into existing pipes:
An extremely thin, flexible yet rigid as well as high-strength fiberglass rod with narrow guide head.
► Our recommendation: GF3 SLIM with 3mm fiberglass rod and only 4.5mm guide head.

"Fishing" / pulling cables and pipes in hollow ceilings, raised floors and wall systems, which cannot be opened, or only openings at the start and destination are possible
Extendable and flexible rods as well as aids such as LED lightmagnet, ball chainhook and ring. Folding rulers that break or assembled pipe pieces are poorly suited.
► Our recommendation
: RunpoSticks
with 10x1m basalt rods and targeted accessories

Long and partially dirty pipes or/and tight pipe bends. Unable to get through.
Push firmly and rotate simultaneously!
► Our recommendation: The problem solver
RT2008 and MET4 spirals
► General recommendations: Lubricants GELspray or foam make cable pulling considerably easier.

More facts about the individual solutions or pulling systems:

GF3 Fiberglass rod Ø 3 mm (with without meter counter)
Efficient pulling into narrow pipes (Ø 10–50 mm) thanks to patented twist-compensation tip & anti-kink protection (R=38 mm), total breaking load 130 kg. Box is splash & dust protected, impact-resistant. Optional digital meter counter enables precise length measurement. Ideal for FTTH and electrical installations with inspection camera RC2 and RC3 can be combined.
Form
Specifically for FTTH (Fiber to the Home): GF3 SLIM fiberglass rod Ø 3 mm, guide head Ø 4.5 mm, for narrow pipes from Ø 10 mm or pipes already occupied with cables, breaking load 130 kg. Compact with twist tip & anti-kink protection, optional digital meter counter. Splash water & dust protected box – robust, handy and perfectly suited for FTTx applications.
Form
RP5 (Runpo 5) Ø 5.3 mm
Triple-twisted extremely flexible special plastic tape Ø 5.3 mm, breaking load 270 kg, 50% less friction than fiberglass rod. Patented twist tip overcomes radii from 15 mm. Anti-pushback lock in compact RP5 box (20/30 m). Optimal for pipes Ø 16–40 mm, virtually break-free in professional use.
Form
RP1 (Runpo 1) Cable pulling tape Ø 4 mm
Robust RP1 plastic tape for pipes Ø 32–100 mm, combines high tensile strength with low friction. Ideal for pulling lengths up to 80 m – durable, efficient and predestined for demanding electrical installations.
Modular basalt rod set Ø 4.5–7.5 mm, ideal for complex channels & cavities. Made from dimensionally stable basalt fiber core, robust and temperature resistant. Includes magnet, LED light, hook & carrying bag – flexible, safe and lightweight for electrical service professionals.

The problem solver! Push forward powerfully and quickly while rotating. Overcome the tightest radii through rotation of the MET4 spiral. With cordless screwdriver, high torque is generated in the MET4 spiral
Form
Metal spiral Ø 4 mm up to 50m length, extremely robust and high tensile strength up to 170 kg. Own weight pulls cable down in vertical applications. (Never use with live parts!). Ideal in combination with the problem solver RT 2008.

Challenges with supply lines and long pipe runs e.g. in industry, streets, underground, etc. Here are additional cable pulling system solutions:

Long supply lines without junction boxes in residential installations with tight bending radii:
A rigid and flexible cable pulling tape with the right guide head or a running wheel solves the problem of difficult cable pulling.
► Our recommendations
: Up to pipe diameter 32mm RP5 (Runpo 5) Pipe diameter 32-80mm GF4.5 or
GF6

Long pipes with larger diameters where flexible pulling tapes spiral up inside the pipe:
Relatively rigid fiberglass rods with different tips such as shackles, pears or running wheels.
► Our recommendations: Fiberglass rods
GF6
GF7GF9GF11

Heavy cable pulling in long pipes or across multiple floors:
A compact and mobile pulling machine replaces up to 8 people for strenuous cable pulling.
► Our recommendation
Capstan winch CW 800 as well as suitable pulling ropes and cable pulling grips
General recommendation: Deflection pulleys for resistance-free pulling around corners and edges as well as
lubricants GELspray or foam  make cable pulling considerably easier.
